Based just outside the English Lake District, I am ideally located for easy access to some of the most breathtaking locations.

I regularly share my best work via the “Gallery” page on my website.
My work has been used as feature imagery for BBC News Online.
My camera gets me out and about in the great outdoors. I encourage others to do the same! For that reason, I provide images to Cumbria Wildlife Trust for use across their media channels in promoting their nature reserves.

Most photographers will develop a style that is consistent across their body of work and I am no different.
I enjoy rearranging elements to establish a sense of order in the natural world. This can be particularly challenging as nature despises straight lines; consider, for example, the way a river meanders.
My photography is intimate and rather simple (clean!) in content yet bold and impactful in terms of my use of colour and contrast.

My primary camera body is a professional-grade Nikon D500, which I pair with AF-S NIKKOR 200-500mm f/5.6E ED VR for wildlife and AF-S DX Nikkor 16-85mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR for lanscapes.
I also own AF-S DX Nikkor 35mm f/1.8G - a sharp and fast prime lens for low-light situations and stunning background blur for portraits, etc.
I favour natural light but do occasionally bring out my Nikon SB-700 Speedlight.
I use a variety of filters from different brands including ND (neutral densitity) and CPL (circular polariser).
The “Blog” page on my website discusses some of my gear choices in greater detail.
I shoot exclusively in RAW file format and process my images in Adobe Lightroom.
